Smarta-as at the WOP Dubai Exibition 2018 !

Between 1-3 October 2018, Smarta-as SRL, together with 6 other fruit producers from the Republic of Moldova, members of APEF Moldova Fruct, participated in the World of Perishables exhibition in Dubai, UAE.

During the exhibition we communicated and negotiated with potential buyers in the category: wholesale, retail, public procurement, intermediaries and so on. We studied UAE preferences in terms of varieties, packaging, sizes, prices, trends. They are already familiar with the apple varieties like: Gala, Golden, Red Chief, Granny Smith and less known with the varieties that Moldovan producers deliver on the traditional market. Fruit delivery to the UAE takes place by the sea and lasts on average 40 days. The Middle East fresh fruit market is a very attractive and prospective one for the Republic of Moldova. And participating in such events creates favorable conditions for establishing new contacts and eventual penetration of the market.

There were also many representatives from Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman as visitors. The Moldova Fruct members' stand was also visited by the Emir of Dubai and  by the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Dubai. Participation in the exhibition was organized by APEF Moldova Fruct and supported by USAID / APM and The Moldovan Investment Agency.
